A Miami Beach commissioner wants to ramp up the safety measures on Lincoln Road after a video (down below) surfaced from Friday night showing a car dropping off a stroller on a pedestrian-only street by Meridian Avenue.

The video was sent to Commissioner Michael Grieco, who posted it on his Facebook and says the city placing concrete barriers on two entrances (by Alton Road and Washington Avenue) is clearly not enough to prevent the types of terrorist attacks we’ve seen in Europe where cars were used as weapons. He went as far as describing the mayor’s barrier plan as a “fake hustle.”

“You had this fake hustle by the mayor (Phillip Levine) and now there are concrete barriers at Alton, Washington and Española Way (off Washington Avenue),” Grieco told the Miami Herald. “That’s fine for a headline. But a committed bad guy who wants to do harm can do harm until we put in retractable bollards.”

Do you agree with Grieco?
