Florida is the top destination state in the country, according to a study by LendingTree, which declared the Sunshine State as the No. 1 new destination for 18 of the 50 states.
The study looked at where residents across the country were looking to move, reviewing purchase mortgage loan requests in all states from October 2016 through October 2017.
Texas, California, and Washington rounded out the top three while Massachusetts, Minnesota, and North Carolina were tied for fifth. They also calculated a state-by-state popularity score, which ranked destination states adjusted by population. Florida ranked second, behind South Carolina.
The study also found Vermont to have the most residents looking to move away.
