Mike Piazza, a Hall of Fame catcher who starred primarily for the Dodgers and Mets (and had a brief stint with the Marlins), listed his Italian villa-style mansion in Miami Beach for $18.5 million.

Located in Sunset Islands, the waterfront estate encompasses 9,647 square feet under air, 100 feet of deep water frontage, eight bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a library, a two-bedroom guest house, and an outdoor veranda. Interior details include soaring wood beamed ceilings in the living room, fine Jerusalem stone floors, a fireplace with a handcrafted marble mantle, a custom bar with onyx countertops, an oversized gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances, and smart home technology.

“This grand estate evokes a true California-meets-Italy feel,” said Jill Hertzberg of The Jills, who is co-listing with partner Jill Eber, who adds the home is “perfect for entertaining.”

Records show the property was acquired in 2008 for $10 million about nine years after the home was constructed.
