The Curbed Cup, our annual award for Miami’s neighborhood of the year, is kicking off with 16 neighborhoods vying for the prestigious (fake) trophy. We’ll reveal each of the neighborhoods this week, and polls will be open for 24 hours so you can cast your vote as to which ones should advance. Let the eliminations commence!
(4) Surfside
Last year’s runner-up has earned a Top 4 seed this time around after falling to Wynwood in the final.
The quiet but rising neighborhood just north of North Beach features a couple of dynamic newer projects in Eighty Seven Park, which broke ground over the summer, and the completed Fendi Chateau Residences.
(13) Sunset Harbour
Home to some of South Beach’s most popular restaurants—Lucali, Pubbelly, and Naiyara, to name a few—the small and very walkable neighborhood fell to downtown Miami a year ago. Among its highlights is a marina where you can catch beautiful sunsets.
This year, the former Curbed Cup champ (2013) has a little easier of a matchup.
