In what appears to be a first for the county, a Miami penthouse hit the market asking only Bitcoin.

The price: 33 bitcoin, which equates to a little over $550,000. It will not be accepting anything but the buzzing cryptocurrency, according to the listing, which lists the condo for $33 but explains it’s a Bitcoin-only transaction in the description.

According to the website of the listing agent, United Realty Group’s Justino Ferret, the residence is also available to rent for $2,300 per month. It’s located in Edgewater at Platinum Condominium, which is a 22-story, 119-unit building that was completed in 2007. Additional details include one bedroom, one and a half bathrooms, views of Biscayne Bay, a European-style kitchen, and wood floors.

Records show the owner is Ciro Fodere, a pianist and founder of Notegarden, which allows musicians to find competitions. The residence was purchased for $315,000 in 2016.

Miami has seen several listings willing to accept bitcoin in the last year, such as this $6 million residence in Oceana Key Biscayne, but this one appears to be the first Bitcoin-only listing. It has to be a tough sell because moving a condo in this oversaturated market is already difficult enough asking dollars.
