In looking at the median rent for one bedroom apartments across the Miami metro area, we learn Homestead and Sunrise are are producing some of the fastest-rising figures in the region.
The Zumper report of 19 cities shows median rent in Homestead rose by a whopping 15.1 percent year over year to $1,070. Placing in second and third was Sunrise and Plantation, whose rents increased by 12.2 percent and 8 percent, respectively.
Also of note among the risers is Boca Raton, currently the second most expensive city in the metro area after median rent rocketed up by 6.5 percent year over year to $1,650.
As for the largest decreases year over year, Deerfield Beach (-15.6% to $1,300), Miami Beach (-7.1% to $1,580), and Miami (-2.8% to $1,750) rounded out the top three. Miami, Boca, and Miami Beach are the cities with the most expensive median one bedroom rent in the metro area.
