That game-changing food hall planned for Miami Beach is moving forward, per The Real Deal, after the planning board approved a conditional use permit allowing for a Time Out Market on the ground floor of a parking garage at 1601 Drexel Avenue.
The concept is modeled after the one in Lisbon, which is attracting around two million visitors a year, according to the company. Time Out Markets are also expected in London and New York.
However, outdoor seating will be restricted to 120 seats, while disallowing speaker usage and live music outside the venue. The outdoor area will close at 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, while the market itself will close at 2 a.m. on weekends.
Brickell City Centre is also getting a food hall of sorts in La Centrale, a three-story culinary experience opening in the fall, bringing a “restaurant-forward concept” that will feature Italian-inspired restaurants and cafes in addition to an enoteca, culinary school, and retail space.
