From Miami Beach to West Kendall

Welcome to Miami’s Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent or buy for a set dollar amount across various South Florida neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out!

Last week, we went home shopping with a $750,000 budget.

This week, we’re renters and can spend no more than $1,200 a month. Our search encompasses West Kendall, Little Havana, Edgewater, South Beach, and Normandy Isle, in order from south to north.

West Kendall: 7401 Southwest 152nd Avenue

$1,200

This 1,571-square-foot unit in West Kendall is by far the biggest on our list, doubling the square footage of the next largest residence. It has one bedroom, one bathroom, and stainless steel appliances.

Little Havana: 717 Southwest 11th Avenue #212

$1,200

This two-bed, one-bath is a block off Calle Ocho in the heart of Little Havana, offering 725 square feet.

Edgewater: 437 Northeast 29th Street #201

$1,200

The next three units are on the smaller end, with this studio sizing up at 475 square feet in the booming neighborhood of Edgewater. It features new appliances and a remodeled bathroom.

South Beach: 915 Lenox Avenue #103

$1,150

Here’s a centrally-located studio in South Beach with just over 400 square feet of living space.

Normandy Isles: 1191 71st Street

$1,175

Our final offering is a 550-square-foot studio with a modern interior. The renovated corner unit offers new appliances.
