Included in Resorts World’s plans to redevelop the Omni transit terminal in downtown Miami is a mixed-use building with retail, restaurants, and entertainment, according to The Next Miami, in addition to a 36-story tower above the station that would encompass hotel rooms and residences.
Arquitectonica is the architect of the estimated $200 million project, which would include 300 rooms in the 162,000-square-foot limited service hotel and nearly 230,000 square feet of residential space.
Genting is still expected to build a massive mega-project under the Resorts World Miami brand next door that would include multiple towers, shopping, restaurants, and parking on the adjacent waterfront land that used to house Miami Herald headquarters.
Last Spring, it was reported Genting was considering selling the land after failing to land approval for a casino.
The 14-acre site was purchased five years ago for $236 million.
