Miami is No. 1 for job seekers, per report

Surprised?

Miami was named the No. 1 city in the United States “for job seekers,” according to a study published on Indeed.

The somewhat surprising report entails the 50 metro areas while asking the following four questions:

1. How favorable is the local labor market to the job seeker?

2. What’s the average salary, once adjusted for cost of living?

3. How high do employers score for work-life balance in Indeed’s review database?

4. How high do employers score for job security and advancement opportunities in Indeed’s review database?

Miami drew perfect scores under two categories: Work-Life Balance and Job Security and Advancement. The only area it didn’t grade out well was in salary percentile, which makes sense because it factors in the city’s high cost of living.

Joining Miami in the Top 10 are fellow Florida cities Orlando (No. 2) and Jacksonville (No. 7). Other recent rankings working in Miami’s favor included most pet-friendly cities (3rd) and best cities for foodies (1st).
