We’ve witnessed some stellar homes hitting the South Florida market in recent years owned by current and former professional athletes but Ty Law’s Plantation offering—asking $2.2 million—is among the most interesting we’ve seen.

Starring primarily for the New England Patriots in the late 90s and early 2000s, the five-time Pro Bowler and three-time Super Bowl champion outfitted his fun house with an array of amenities that parallels his glistening NFL resume.

The Cecil Hayes-designed home boasts a central courtyard that includes a pool with rock waterfalls and a grotto, in addition to a Tahitian-style chickee hut with a full bar, built-in couches, and a 60-inch flatscreen. The area is engulfed by winding koi ponds that lead to a summer kitchen.

Highlighting the 5,500-square-foot home’s contemporary interiors are six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and an entertainment wing of sorts that includes a home theater, game room, and adjacent refreshment area with a popcorn machine, a slushee maker, and a beer tap.

“I really enjoyed entertaining friends and family in our home,” added Law, whose illustrious playing career stretched from 1995 to 2009. “The chickee hut was my favorite place to watch a game, so I could sit back, relax and enjoy the serenity around me.”

Listing agent Barbara Shapiro, of Coldwell Banker Residential, highlighted the “smart home technology, well-appointed and contemporary interiors and ample in-door and outdoor entertaining spaces.”
