Among the various projects to sprout in Miami’s bustling Doral neighborhood is Terra’s Modern Doral, a master-planned development consisting of 319 single-family homes.

Making the project extra unique is the fact that tennis star Venus Williams, currently ranked No. 9 in the world, had a hand in the midcentury modern design with her V Starr Interiors firm designing the three clubhouses.

“Our interiors are a modern representation of quintessential mid-century Miami and boast sculptural lighting, fun artwork and pops of color with cool open floor plans,” explains Williams, CEO of V Starr Interiors. “These are family communities, so we have kids’ rooms in the club homes, which is distinct from past projects; there are Lego walls and custom murals by Jeffrey Noble that maintain the modern feeling.”

The clubhouses are three stories and offer at least 3,500 square feet of space, including a fitness center, meeting areas, a library, a pool, a spa, a sun deck, and other amenities.

Residences are priced from $860,000 to $1.5 million and include 10-to-12-foot ceilings, 2-to-3 car garages, panoramic windows, and balconies. There’s also a retail element to the development, with 150,000 square feet of fine dining, shopping, and recreational environments.

The project, which was over 90 percent sold as of last summer, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
