Opening this Thursday, August 10, is the Julia Hotel in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood.

The 29-room boutique hotel that was originally pegged for a May opening is located at 336 Collins Avenue and was named after Julia Tuttle, the “Mother of Miami” and “the only woman to found a major American city.”

Stephen Busto designed the interiors, with the lobby featuring authentic Cuban tile flooring, a restored fireplace, Turkish throw pillows and rugs, rocking chairs, and modern art.

Within each guest room are memory-foam mattresses, custom furnishings, and solid oak plank flooring. Original artwork from local and international artists are on display throughout the rooms and common areas. In celebration of their grand opening, the Julia Hotel is offering a 15 percent discount on bookings made in August for travel through December 15.

The hotel is for adults only with amenities including a French-inspired continental breakfast, beach chairs reserved on South Beach, and a daily wine and cheese happy hour.
