The mixed-use Miami Beach project that was already approved for 1212 Lincoln Road is requesting modifications to their initial plan, per The Next Miami, which also reports the Netherlands-based Citizen M hotel chain has signed on to operate the hotel portion.
The original plan called for 100 boutique hotel rooms, a European-style market, and 450 parking spots. However, developer Crescent Heights is now requesting a 168-room hotel, in which “a variance will need to be approved by a city board to allow ultra-small rooms,” which are sized at just 218 square feet.
Other changes include the operation of two large LED billboards that “will display graphics inspired in part by murals on the existing bank building at the site.”
Another change: previously, the developer had planned to demolish a structure at 1600 Alton Road, but they now say that existing leases make that impossible. Instead, they want to retain the building and reduce the project to two phases instead of three.
The current site is anchored by a Wells Fargo, which sits across the street from Regal Cinemas. The plans are expected to be considered next week by the Miami Beach Design and Review Board.
