Miami Hurricanes game canceled, Dolphins-Bucs game rescheduled as Irma lurks

Both the Miami Hurricanes and the Miami Dolphins will not be playing football this weekend as Hurricane Irma rips through the Caribbean while South Florida remains in the cone of uncertainty, though the latest models show a more eastbound track to the north.

The University of Miami was scheduled to play at Arkansas State on Saturday while the Dolphins were scheduled to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Miami on Sunday for their season opener. The Canes news came from the AP, which says the game will not be rescheduled, while ESPN reports the Dolphins and Bucs will move their game to Week 11, when both teams were scheduled to have their bye week.

Irma is currently a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 185 miles per hour. For a guide to tracking the hurricane, click here, and for the latest models, projects, and visuals, head over here.
