Here’s an update on the current Miami hurricane shelters that are open and some that are at capacity, as of 1 a.m. Saturday as Hurricane Irma approaches.
Also, a new pet-friendly shelter has also opened at Highland Oaks Middle, located at 2375 NE 2023 St, North Miami 33180. Residents are expected to bring the necessary supplies like bedding, crates, food, and water for themselves and their pets.
