A new golf entertainment venue has Fort Lauderdale in its sights: South Florida Business Journal reports that Top Golf competitor Drive Shack is looking to build a location in Broward County. The company wants to build a three-story facility at 6499 N.W. 12th Street with a driving range featuring camera technology that will analyze players’ swings, along with perks for golfers like a restaurant and rooftop lounge. The City Commission will vote this week on whether to start negotiations with Drive Shack for that lease.

High-tech golf facilities are moving in all over the area. Drive Shack’s already won approval for a location in West Palm Beach. Then there’s Topgolf: in December, Topgolf’s first driving range and entertainment centers in South Florida opened in Miami Gardens. Another Topgolf is headed to Doral too.
