This Sunday, January 28, runners will hit the road for this year’s annual Miami Marathon — and drivers that morning would be wise to take heed of road closures for the race.
“We recommend all those wishing to enter to enter or exit Miami Beach between 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM utilize the Julia Tuttle Causeway,” the marathon’s website reads. “Roads will be closed and managed by Miami, Miami Beach, Miami Dade County Police Departments who will assist traffic through intersections between gaps of runners.”
The race kicks off at 6 a.m. at the American Airlines Arena downtown, then runners will travel to Miami Beach via the MacArthur Causeway, up Ocean Drive, over the Venetian Causeway and head as far south as Coconut Grove.
Things wrap up by 2 p.m., but most of the roads will be clear before then due to the rolling reopening procedures. Here’s the full list of road closures on January 28, 2018 via the Miami Marathon and Half Marathon.
