Get ready to see bright orange bikes all over Miami Springs. The dockless bikeshare program just launched with a kickoff on Saturday at Miami’s Springs Farmer’s Market.
To take a bike out for a joyride, all Spin users have to do is download a Spin app and pay $1 for a 30 minute trip, then unlock a bike by scanning a QR code and get pedaling.
This influx of communal bikes is part of a new wave of smartphone-based, dockless bike-share startups invading cities in the United States. Spin in particular is making in-roads in Miami: riders will find these bright orange Spin bikes in Coral Gables and Doral too along with Miami Springs.
