‘Little Florida’ estate sells for $2.05M

Just guess how it got that name

Local landmark “Little Florida,” a spot along Fort Lauderdale’s winding New River that gets its nickname from its Florida-shaped peninsula, just sold for $2,050,000.

Coldwell Banker closed the deal on the estate, which offers 653 feet of water frontage, a deeded private dock with easy ocean access, an oversized loggia, and a pool deck — along with lush gardens that make this seem like a tropical hideaway.

The four-bedroom home itself was built in 1937, and renovated in 1996 with care to retain some of the building’s architectural features. The home’s features include a sunroom, fireplace, Mexican tile, and wooden floors. Then there are the bragging rights of living on your own miniature version of the Sunshine State.
