The week might be off to a dramatic start, weather-wise. A cold front is heading into Miami, bringing rain and possibly severe thunderstorms and heavy winds this afternoon.
“The strongest thunderstorms will be capable of frequent lightning and strong, damaging winds,” Stephen Konarik, senior meteorologist in the Miami office of the National Weather Service told the SunSentinel. “Hail is also possible.”
There’s a “less than slight” chance of 60 mile-per-hour winds, according to the paper, but that’s still the highest risk of severe weather in the area since 2018 began.
