Ford will continue self-driving car test in Miami

Meanwhile, Uber is suspending all self-driving tests after a fatal crash with a pedestrian

via The Verge

Ford’s self-driving vehicle testing in South Florida will go on, the Miami Herald reports, despite news that Uber is suspending all of its autonomous testing after a fatal crash over the weekend. A vehicle from Uber’s self-driving fleet struck and killed a pedestrian on Sunday in Tempe, Arizona.

The car involved in the Arizona accent was a Volvo, not a Ford, although Uber has used Ford Fusions in past tests. Ford announced last month that its Miami-Dade County self-driving test was underway. Only two autonomous Fords are on the road at the moment, according to the Miami Herald, and the company reports there have been no accidents.
