Traffic detours to know about for the Ultra Music Festival in Miami

Uber is partnering with the festival too

This weekend’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami starts today, and getting downtown is going to be trickier than usual.

7 News Miami reports the following road closures.

  • All Biscayne Boulevard northbound traffic will be rerouted to the southbound lanes at Southeast First Street
  • Southbound traffic on Biscayne Boulevard will be rerouted eastbound and westbound at Northeast Sixth Street.
  • There will be no southbound traffic on Biscayne Boulevard south of Northeast Sixth Street.

Miami officials are eager to get concertgoers to ditch their cars to get to the festival: Anyone heading to Ultra can spend $2.25 on a one-way Metrorail ticket to get to the Government Center Station, NBC6 reports, and then take a free ride on Metromover’s Inner Loop to the College/Bayside, First Street or Bayfront Park Metromover station. Uber is also setting up a 10-block designated ride-sharing section from Northeast 5th Street to Southeast 1st Street between Northeast 2nd and Miami Avenues.
