Fort Lauderdale gets its second rooftop bar, Sparrow

The bar is located in The Dalmar, a luxe hotel, where rooms offer Amazon Alexa accessibility.

Remember when bar and lounge, Rooftop @ 1WLO, held the distinct title of the only rooftop bar on Las Olas Boulevard?

Those days are gone. Now, there’s a new contender in town—the rooftop bar that sits atop The Dalmar, a 209-guest room boutique hotel that’s scheduled for a Summer 2018 opening.

Sparrow, located at 299 N Federal Highway, near downtown Fort Lauderdale’s tallest building, 100 Las Olas, will soon serve Americana food and cocktail drinks.

According to the developers, the rooftop’s prime location gives patrons views of Fort Lauderdale’s skyline.

“We wanted to push the limit with The Dalmar and challenge the way today’s travelers experience hotels,” says Jake Wurzak, president of Wurzak Hotel Group. “The world of hospitality is undergoing a radical transformation and The Dalmar will be unlike anything Fort Lauderdale has ever seen. Our goal is to provide guests an exciting venue to immerse themselves in authentic and engaging experiences, while celebrating the essence of Fort Lauderdale.”

The 25-story hotel has a laundry list of high-tech capabilities that includes the utilization of smart home technology. The hotel’s 209 guest rooms, including 44 suites, are slated to feature Amazon Alexa capability, iPad technology, and keyless room entry.

The mid-century modern hotel acts as an entertainment hub—boasting five restaurants and bars; a pool and cabana area, a state of the art sound system, and Sip N’ Dip, a pool bar.

Renderings show a ballroom, a sky deck filled with lush greenery, and the lobby bar.

Rainfall showers; an infinity pool; fitness center; 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space located on the fourth and fifth floors, and Yoga Joint, a yoga studio, are some of the other amenities guests can look forward to using.
