Just in time for the summer, a new law wants to put a halt to your makeshift, late-night BBQ parties on the beach.

Starting July 1, “customary use” law, will make it harder for local governments to allow unscheduled public access to privately owned beaches for recreation.

Under the law, a local government that wants to allow public access to a private beach will need a court order that permits recreation on dry-sand areas of Florida beaches.
