Why this is the best park in Miami

Haulover Beach Park is the best attraction in Miami, travel review website Trip Expert reports.

According to Trip Expert, Haulover Beach Park, located at 10800 Collins Avenue in Bal Harbour, was an obvious choice—it’s the highest-ranking attraction in Miami.

Fewer than 2 percent of attractions globally receive the award, Trip Expert says.

The Miami-Dade County park nabbed the 2018 Experts’ Choice Award after receiving praise in the form of 1 million reviews in 85 publications, such as Travel + Leisure, Fodor’s, and Not For Tourists, regarding its amenities.

The 177-acre park has 1.4 miles of beachfront that’s suitable for sunbathing, surfing, and swimming.

The park’s other amenities include bicycle rentals courtesy of Electribike Miami, fishing spots, a picnic area, a multipurpose room, a dog park (Bark Park), and kite-flying areas.

Unlike other parks, Haulover Beach Park offers dining options, in the form of Food Trucks Tuesdays and a concession stand. If you’re feeling adventurous, the park has an area designated for sunbathing without clothing. You’ll find swimming areas with lifeguards on duty and beach chair and umbrella rentals, too.

The park was also honored with the Best of Miami award.

According to the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, Miami-Dade Parks is the third-largest county park system in the country. The park system has 270 parks and 13,573 acres of land.

Haulover Beach Park is one of two public beach parks in Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade County parks are supported by the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, a nonprofit organization.
