Canvas Miami shows off sky-high dog park, hallway murals ahead of summer opening

The Arts and Entertainment District tower is nearly complete

As crews work to put the final touches on the Canvas Miami condos, its developers have shared images of the project’s residential amenities and the vividly painted hallways that give the high-rise tower its art-inspired name.

The latest renderings provide an early glimpse of the upcoming development’s 100-foot long “bark park with a view” overlooking downtown Miami as well as a glass-enclosed indoor racquetball court. Other building amenities include a fitness center, screening room, kids play area, outdoor yoga garden, and no less than three pools.

While the communal areas certainly look nice in the provided renderings, the project’s most interesting feature is arguably its diverse array of colorful murals splashed across its hallways.

Curated by local urban artist Daniel “Krave” Fila, the so-called ‘Canvas Collection’ brought together over 20 painters from Miami and other parts of the world to create 200 original works.

“We took the idea of a ‘canvas’ to its most literal extreme and gave all of these artists free reign to express themselves on our walls,” said Nir Shoshani of developer NR Investments.

“It’s an unprecedented collaboration, and we took a huge risk doing this, but we wanted to stay true to our vision of creating a residential community that reflects the creativity and culture of Miami.” A full list of participating artists can be found here.

An aesthetic embodiment of its location at 1630 NW 1st Avenue in Miami’s Arts and Entertainment District, Canvas is on track to open later this summer. Prices range from $390,000 to $654,000 for the building’s 513 units, which, according to NRI, are already 85 percent sold out.

The development’s ground-floor restaurant bar “Esotico Miami” is expected to open in the fall.
