There's been lots of new construction on Lincoln Road lately which will ultimately result in a series of new and dramatic retail spaces, as well as bring to life the alley to the north, known as Lincoln Lane North, as a secondary retail corridor. Coming right up, the new H&M extravaganza-of-a-store will be opening November 8th in the historic Lincoln Theatre building, but that's only the beginning. Lincoln Theatre

Opening November 8th, the historic Lincoln Theatre has had had much of its original grandeur restored, and through sensitive adaptive use by design architect Allan Shulman, will reopen with a 24,000 square foot H&M in the former auditorium space. Also moving in: Swatch, 100 Montaditos, 4D Gelato, and Sabon.

A grand two story Gap store is planned to be built at 1001 Lincoln Road, with a design by Touzet Studio that has been widely praised by everyone from preservationists to retail honchos and architecture lovers.

After almost being canceled completely due to allegations (later proved false) of dirty dealings on the part of certain parties associated with the project, a city-initiated plan to develop three empty parking lots north of Lincoln Road is continuing. The original widely-admired leading proposal, by a star-studded team, may be in jeopardy, however, as a new advisory committee convenes. Whichever plan wins will include plenty of retail.

Currently under construction, the 1000 Building around the block from Lincoln Road on 17th street, will have two new stories of retail, and a rooftop restaurant. Planned tenants are still unknown. The architect is Arquitectonica.

Wedged in between two of the Lincoln Lane North Project lots just off Lincoln on Lenox Avenue, the restaurant Yard House (Not Yardbird) is building themselves a new building with an additional retail space for another tenant on the side.

A giant three-level Forever 21 is going into the historic former Saks Fifth Avenue building, which is getting an extensive gutting and restoration by design architect Allan Shulman. The building had slowly turned into a mess since Saks left decades ago. It will be the largest retail space on Lincoln Road,

Tesla, the fabulously electric sports car maker, is opening a new showroom on Lincoln Road. Currently under construction, it will be the first car dealership on Lincoln in decades. The street originally had many.

Before they were called 'polo shirts,' they were called 'tennis shirts' because they were designed by superstar French tennis player René Lacoste. Yes, that Lacoste. Shirt collars went up during play, to keep your neck out of the sun. Anyways, the Lacoste Lincoln Road store opened in August.

Dylan's Candy Bar, straight out of New York and the excessively preppy world of Dylan Lauren's daddy Ralph, comes Dylan's candy bar at 801 Lincoln Road. The opening is planned for December, according to Eater Miami.
