If you come to accept the fact that Baywatch isn’t trying to be a great film, the 2017 reboot of the popular TV show can at least be somewhat entertaining.

Forget the abysmal 19 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating if you’re the type of movie enthusiast who favors mindless fun over more serious, but sculpted dramas. It’s similar to Bad Boys II, which we mapped recently here, in that aspect. Both have big-time actors in central roles, with Will Smith starring in the Bad Boys sequels and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson headlining Baywatch.

The fact that it’s at least somewhat entertaining and offers a handful of South Florida filming locations, we thought it’d be a solid pick for our next movie map. After all, we can’t be that picky anymore considering Florida yanked its film incentives program last year.

Baywatch actually premiered in South Beach on Ocean Drive, but most of the film was shot in Boca, Deerfield Beach, and Georgia. Its southernmost action was filmed in North Beach.
