Miami now has five five-star hotels according to the Forbes Travel Guide, which released its annual Global Star Ratings today, honoring the finest hotels, restaurants, and spas in the world in 2017.

They evaluated over 500 criteria with the ratings based on three levels: Five Star, Four Star, and Recommended. Only one hotel earned a premier rating from Fort Lauderdale, with the Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale again landing four stars.

  • Ten Miami hotels received four stars: The Betsy South Beach, The Biltmore, Four Seasons Hotel Miami, Loews Miami Beach Hotel, The Ritz-Carlton (4x - Bal Harbour, Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, and South Beach), Trump International Beach Resort, and Trump National Doral Miami.
  • Three Miami hotels received a recommendation: Fontainebleau Miami Beach, The Miami Beach Edition, and Turnberry Isle Miami.

The Miami Beach Edition is the only new entry on the above list of 13 hotels.

The five-star list remains unchanged from last year except for one new addition in the Faena Hotel Miami Beach.
