For those looking to buy their first home in the Miami area, the process can be a morbid one that often times pushes first-time homeowners outside of county lines.

Quality “starter homes” in Miami don’t really exist if you want to be in a house in an attractive neighborhood close to the city’s core. Even the city’s apartment rental market has created among the most cost-burdened renters in the nation.

However, we attempted to dip into “starter home” territory and came away with 10 options in Miami-Dade County offered at $250,000 or less.

It was a somewhat depressing search, as many homes fitting the criteria were extremely lacking in value and often times not big enough to house a family in an ideal world. We tried to prioritize residences offering two bedrooms or more.

Our search runs north to south.
