Miami’s most popular hotel is not a historic venue in South Beach overlooking the ocean or a brand-new offering in Brickell City Centre but an airport hotel, one with the blandest name imaginable.
The Miami International Airport Hotel topped USA Today’s list of Miami’s most booked hotels, as curated by American travel company Expedia. In fact, eight of the top 10 properties were located at or near the airport.
One has to figure this could change in the coming years when/if a Miami Beach conventional center hotel gets built (though Miami Beach voters have rightfully been against it) and when Miami Worldcenter injects over 1,700 rooms into the downtown Miami area.
The only two non-airport hotels to crack the Top 10 are Downtown’s InterContinental (No. 8) and Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau (No. 2). The hotels are mapped in order from most to least popular.
