And now we present the seven most highly anticipated hotels under construction - that is hotels with shovels in the ground now - in Miami. The list, which okay fine contains mostly hotels in Miami Beach, includes some exciting international chains making their Miami debut, some historic renos, and some fabulous but still-quite-under-wraps architecture expected to shock and awe when doors finally open. SLS is bringing their swank hotel brand to the mainland with the SLS Brickell, partnering with the Related Group to incorporate condos into the tower. Expect art galore, restaurants up the wazoo, and pools on the amenity deck and building's 52nd floor roof.

The long-empty Peter Miller Hotel is in the works to be reopened as the Lennox, with a collection of buildings around a pool deck, all designed by Kobi Karp. The interiors, show in renderings, appear quite swank.
